Ashley & Kyle | Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Vulcan Park and Museum

Let me just start off by saying Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market absolutely LOVED Ashley and Kyle’s wedding. It was fun, vibrant, and they were an awesome couple to work with. Ashley and Kyle live in San Diego so Ashley’s mom handled a lot of the planning for their wedding. She did a great job!!!

Wedding photographer Ashley Colon of Life’s Mirror Images in Scottsboro, Alabama photographed the day. We always love working with new {to us} photographers and Ashley was a real treat. She’s definitely been added to our list of favorites.

The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at Vulcan Park and Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham caterer Café Iz provided all of the food and as always, it was delicious!

peony bridal bouquet

Bride Ashley stunned in this strapless gown and her bright, cheerful bouquet of echeveria, cream spray roses, Coral Charm peonies, vendela roses, O’Hara garden roses, craspedia, and a collar of dusty miller.

something old in bouquet

The stems of Ashley’s bouquet were wrapped in ivory satin and a family momento was tied on with twine.

colorful bridesmaids dresses

The bridesmaids wore bright coral chiffon dresses that were perfect for a beautiful spring wedding in Alabama.

simple bridesmaid bouquet

Ashley chose simple baby’s breath bouquets for her bridesmaids to carry. Each was wrapped in burlap and then double wrapped with a coordinating coral ribbon.

checked tie for wedding

Kyle wore a yellow craspedia and echevaria {succulent} boutonniere wrapped in twine. We love the checked coral tie. It was a great detail to add for the groom.

wedding at a nature preserve

The entire bridal party wore grey suits. Kyle wore a coral, checked tie while the other gentlemen wore simple coral ties. Their wedding boutonnieres were made of baby’s breath and wrapped in brown twine.

letting balloons go at a wedding

How neat are these balloons that Ashley and Kyle incorporated into their photos atop the Vulcan statue?

alternative wedding program

Instead of a traditional wedding program Ashley and her mom had this colorful chalkboard listed with the wedding details. Also notice the beautiful coral peony pew marker.

Colorful wedding ceremony

We created this wooden arbor just for Ashley and Kyle’s Vulcan Park wedding ceremony. It was then draped in natural burlap and tied up with two large bouquets of flowers including Coral Charm peonies, echevaria, white and green hydrangea, O’Hara garden roses, green hanging amaranthus, and craspedia.

personalized koozies

These fun koozies say “To have and to hold and to keep your beer cold | Ashley * Kyle”. Did we mention we have these on sale through January 31?

unique cake display

Ashley’s cake was displayed on a large wooden spool with a fun table linen in front of the ‘gears and shifts’ wall at Vulcan Museum.

guest table centerpieces

Guest tables were decorated with colorful flower arrangements in mason jars.

Toss bouquet at wedding

Ashley tossed a bouquet of baby’s breath to the awaiting single ladies.

The couple exited their wedding reception by having their guests blow bubbles. Love this photograph from Life's Mirror Images!
